Holovis sets the scene for Ferrari World’s Turbo Track coaster

Immersive experience specialist Holovis has designed and produced a preshow for the new Turbo Track coaster that has recently opened at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.

The Turbo Track coaster is an adrenaline fuelled ride that launches riders through the park’s iconic red roof. It features an immersive preshow that invites guests to prove they’ve got what it takes to join Ferrari’s world famous racing team.

The preshow is designed to set the scene and place visitors at the heart of the story. It takes place in Ferrari’s Abu Dhabi testing facility for new test drivers. The show features a number of exams to test riders reflexes and precision, culminating in the Turbo Track coaster, which serves as a high-speed brake test, designed to determine riders courage.

The preshow features a live actor-led experience, scripted and show produced by Holovis. It centres around the Testing Room, an audience participation experience where an actor, playing the part of the facility’s assistant technical director and the Test Functions Oversight System (or TFOSy), a sarcastic computer which runs the facility, leads guests through a series of interactive tests.

Holovis cast, directed and filmed the Testing Room show in its new production studio at the Holovis headquarters in the UK and on location in Abu Dhabi.

Amy Steele, vice president of Development at Holovis, says: “Our engineering, show producing and media teams were able to co-ordinate the respective designs together, creating a show that keeps the energy levels and excitement high throughout and adds the unique and memorable element of a live audience participation show within the attraction.”

Holovis also installed all of the AV hardware including video monitors, BGM speakers and back of house show control, throughout the attraction.
